Brewdog calls for ‘voting with clear ideas this time’

As the second round of the legislative elections approaches, the Brewdog brand is launching a campaign to promote its non-alcoholic beer… while calling on citizens not to vote for the extreme right.

After an initial campaign encouraging the French to go to the polls with the famous abstention beer at 48.5° (the abstention rate in France during the last European elections), the Scottish brand Brewdog is speaking out again a few days before the second round of the legislative elections: “Vote with clear ideas this time”she suggests in an Instagram post.

Having already spoken out on international societal issues such as ecology and LGBT rights, Brewdog is this time taking a clear stand against the far right and its potential rise to power in France. “It’s in Brewdog’s DNA to get involved and break away from the classic codes with this punk tone that is representative of the brand. This campaign idea immediately appealed to us, even more so in a period where it is necessary to get involved in societal issues.”says Anne-Laure Charrier, country manager at Brewdog, in a press release.

A non-alcoholic beer to go vote?

Designed by the Grinta agency, this new campaign was also designed to promote Brewdog’s alcohol-free beer. “Alcohol abuse is dangerous for democracy. We therefore remind some people that we also make beer without it.”adds the brand on Instagram. Pretty clever!
