Britain joined the war, Russia claims. Threats of “necessary measures” over delivery of Storm Shadow missiles

Britain said on Thursday it would supply Ukraine with several Storm Shadow missiles, long-range missiles the island nation co-developed with France. Among other things, the missiles are characterized by a range of up to 250 km and thus provide Ukraine with the opportunity to attack deep in the enemy’s rear. But Russia does not like this and accuses Britain of involvement in the war.

“We consider this decision to be another extremely hostile move by London, aimed at further pumping weapons into Ukraine, leading to a serious escalation of the situation in the special military operation zone. The transfer of high-precision long-range missile systems to the Kiev regime clearly confirms the unprecedented level of British involvement in the Ukrainian conflict ,” the ministry said.

It added that after Britain “sought to establish itself as NATO’s informal leader on the Ukrainian runway and Russia’s implacable adversary, the UK is clearly ready to cross any lines and take the conflict to a fundamentally new level in terms of destruction and human casualties.”

Kyiv is grateful for Storm Shadow missiles, but not enough. We need the F-16, he insists

According to the ministry, the Russian side “reserves the right to take all necessary measures to neutralize the threats that may arise as a result of the use of British cruise missiles in Ukraine. All responsibility for the consequences of London’s destructive activity lies entirely with the authors and executors of this reckless step.”

When Russia announced the supply of arms to Ukraine, it said that it had an “extremely negative” attitude towards them and that “an adequate response will be required.” British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace officially confirmed the transfer of long-range Storm Shadow missiles to Ukraine, while Kiev could already have the first missiles on its territory.
