Brother and sister killed in the Bjelopolje village of Sokolac

Brother and sister Milanka and Jovan Madžgalj, aged around 50, were killed this evening in the village of Sokolac in Bijelo Polje, Vijesti learned from several sources from the Police Administration (UP).

According to unofficial information from Vijesti, the killer is a repeat offender.

According to the same information, the police are looking for the perpetrator.

The UP announced that around 9:10 p.m. it was reported to the police in Bijelo Polje that in the hamlet of Sokolac, near Tomašev, two elderly people had been killed and their bodies were found in the house, and that the perpetrator had fled armed.

“All available police units of the Regional Security Center ‘North’, Anti-terrorist units, police dogs and a helicopter unit of the MUP and the Army of Montenegro have been made available and are undertaking intensive activities in order to locate and detain this person,” said the UP.

They appealed to the citizens of Bijelo Polje, especially the residents of the aforementioned village, to be careful, stay in their housing facilities and not allow unknown persons to enter them.

“While the police are undertaking all activities within their jurisdiction with the aim of bringing the security situation under control and depriving the perpetrator of their freedom. In addition, we appeal to the citizens to report any information they think may be significant, in relation to this event, to the police. In the future events, the police will make an announcement in a timely manner,” said the UP.

News from the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Bijelo Polje were told that tonight the police informed the duty prosecutor Vanja Rakonjac about the double murder in Sokolac.

“Officials of the UP are securing the scene and intensively searching for the perpetrator,” Ljubica Caković told Vijesti PR of the Higher State Prosecutor’s Office in Bijelo Polje.
