In the small town of Doyle in Northern California, a son suddenly and inexplicably disappeared, and the family searched for him for many years, but without success. But now they just found him, alive, and the newspaper that published his photo was “to blame” for his happy birthday.
Years ago, the family gave up all hope of finding their missing son and brother. At the time, the police found no indication that his disappearance was the result of an illegal act or even murder, so they soon called off the official search. Despite all the efforts, the sister of the missing man also lost all hope and lived her life, but recently she opened a newspaper and was speechless: in the published photo, which was used to search for anyone who knew anything about the emaciated man, was her elderly brother!
According to the Sheriff’s Office of Lassen County, which also includes the aforementioned town of Doyle, this spring, a 60-year-old man was found in South Los Angeles already this spring, who was unable to communicate, had no documents, so they could not identify him and he was transported to the hospital.
Until recently, the man had been in various hospitals, and additional information was sought through publications in various local newspapers. One of these posts was seen by his sister, who immediately contacted the police and explained that the photo showed her brother, who had been on the missing persons list since 1999.
The hospital then compared some of the physical details given by the nurse, and also compared his fingerprints with the prints taken from him more than 25 years ago at Doyle, thus definitively confirming his identity. As the police said, for the sake of data protection, the names and surnames of the family were not given, and it is also not yet known why the man left his family in such a way and what he has actually been doing for the past 25 years. Given his health, it will likely take some time for the family to learn more about his decision at the time and his later life.
