The General Mayor of the Capital, Nicuşor Dan, presented on Thursday, in a video post on Facebook, using a pizza, how the money is divided between the sector and municipal town halls, showing that a small part of the resources end up being allocated to investments.
Sitting at a table in a restaurant, the mayor has a pizza in front of him, from which several people are served in turn, representing the six sectors of the Capital. In the end, from the two slices left on his plate, other pieces are cut for subsidies for heating, public transport, hospitals, theaters and street lighting, so that in the end a small part remains for investments .
At the end, Nicusor Dan paid the bill, displaying a disapproving expression.
“The city’s money is not distributed fairly. Currently, the sector town halls receive more money than the General Town Hall, although it has more responsibilities. For more investments in the Capital, we need to change the sharing of funds”, wrote the general mayor.
The citizens of Bucharest are expected on November 24, together with the first round of the presidential elections, at a local referendum, where they will have to answer the following questions:
1. Do you agree that the distribution between the Bucharest City Hall and the Sector Town Halls of income taxes and local taxes and fees collected from the citizens of Bucharest should be approved by the General Council of the City of Bucharest?
2. Do you agree that the General Mayor of the Municipality of Bucharest should issue building permits for the entire administrative territory of the city?
3. Do you agree that Bucharest City Hall should finance and implement an education program for health and prevention of drug use in all schools in Bucharest?
