Il Monterey Car Weekalso this year, has confirmed itself as unmissable for car enthusiasts. The Californian event was enriched by the presence Bugatti of great importance. The top management of the Molsheim company have in fact decided to celebrate the excellence of their brand with a meeting of 2 legendary models from the past and present: the Type 35 and the Bolide.
The latter is a truly unique example of the technological capabilities of the Alsatian company. With its performance, focused on the track, the transalpine hypercar has faced head on and for the first time the thrilling curves of the famous Laguna Seca Raceway.
She was supported on the photographic set by an icon of the Romantic era, who in some way inspired her, at least on a philosophical and spiritual level: Type 35a racing car with an extraordinary track record, making it the most successful racing car of all time. Basking in the heat of the Californian sun, the 2 vehicles mentioned above shared the sacred asphalt of a legendary circuit, tackling the famous Corkscrew and the thrilling changes in elevation, in a breathtaking spectacle of elegance and excitement.
Mate Rimac, Bugatti boss, was moved by the experience, which was also electrifying for the public. Bolide honors the legacy of its elderly progenitor in the best possible way. Although it has no use in motorsport, it makes wonderful use of the inspiration provided by the Type 35.
