Bulega second, World Championship top spot closer

A feat for the rider from Terni, the first to win in Superbike, MotoGP, Dakar and MotoAmerica: a much-desired victory ahead of Bulega, who closed the gap on Razgatlioglu.

In the Italian moto-day there is also space, above all, for Danilo Petrucci’s feat, first driver in history capable of winning in his career in the Superbike, MotoGP, Dakar and MotoAmerica. The only thing missing from the incredible “collection” of the champion from Terni was the Superbike, who had the satisfaction of winning in front of his home fans. His was the winning goal in Race-1 of the Acerbis Italian Round in Cremona. A victory celebrated with the right, irrepressible satisfaction.

Superbike, Petrucci triumphs in Race-1 in Italy

Petrucci has been flying in Cremona since Friday. In fact, already in qualifying, the Barni Spark Racing Team rider showed an excellent familiarity with the Lombard circuit, making himself appreciated for his amazing times and for the cleanliness of his trajectories. In the first race in Cremona, however, he had to start from the sixth position due to a penalty, also given to Gardner’s Yamaha, for riding at low speed on the ideal line during FP2. No big deal. Petrucci pushed from the first corners and once he gained the lead, he never let go.

Second place for Bulega: Razgatlioglu closer

Behind him, in second position, Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing – Ducati) which, thanks to the points gained, has closed the gap with respect to Toprak Razgatlioglu, leader of the standings but absent in Cremona and – perhaps – also in the next stages of the Superbike World Championship. Third place for Alvaro Bautistaanother representative of the Aruba.it team, while Andrea Iannone – who also recorded the second best time in the race behind Bulega and ahead of Petrucci – went out after eight laps.

Danilo’s joy: “First time, like at Mugello”

Happiness in Petrucci’s words after the triumph: “Since we started I saw that I was in good shape. I said: ‘Come on, I’ll do like at Mugello and also with the Superbike I’ll win my first race in Italy. But there were still twenty laps to go and the track conditions were not easy, a couple of times I almost fell. But I stood there and said: ‘Now let’s see what happens’. I always stayed at my pace, managing the rubber. I didn’t think it would be possible to win a MotoGP race, a Dakar stage in between and then another Superbike race, which was my dream. Gold, I’m really in good company.”
