Bundesliga trio faces competition from Mathys Tel

Rumors have been increasing for a few days about Mathys Tel’s possible winter departure from FC Bayern. After a Bundesliga trio around Werder Bremen was recently traded, a club from the Premier League is now said to have taken concrete steps with the Munich attacker.

Mathys Tel only extended his contract with FC Bayern until mid-2029 in the spring. The young Frenchman is considered the future in the attack of the German football record champions. In the short term, however, Tel has a difficult time in Munich’s star-studded offensive and is usually only used from the bench.

So it’s no wonder that “Bild” reporter Christian Falk wrote in his column for the “CaughtOffside” portal a few days ago that FC Bayern would let the striker go on loan in the winter if a concrete request came in. Three clubs from the Bundesliga were named as interested parties: Werder Bremen, Borussia Mönchengladbach and FC Augsburg.

On Monday evening, Sky added another interested party to the list, namely Nottingham Forest. The third-place finisher in the Premier League is said to have already made “first contact” with Tel. The pay TV broadcaster spoke of a call. Forest is said to have inquired there whether a temporary change was possible.

The answer: no. It remains the case that the Bayern attacker – as of now – still has no plans to leave Munich on loan in the winter. His management told the surprise team in the English first league this.

Several clubs want to loan Mathys Tel from FC Bayern

But Nottingham should stick with it, and “other clubs from the Premier League” are also said to have put out feelers, according to “Sky” reporter Florian Plettenberg, who also confirmed Werder Bremen’s interest in Tel as reported by “CaughOffside”.

The 19-year-old Tel moved from Stade Rennes to FC Bayern in 2022 for a whopping 20 million euros. Since then, France’s U21 international has repeatedly hinted at his potential, but the final breakthrough has so far failed to materialize.
