Busan Bumin Hospital (Director Choi Chang-hwa) received a ‘1st grade’ in the ‘3rd (2023) Anesthesia Appropriateness Evaluation’ by the Health Insurance Review & Assessment Service. This is the second consecutive ‘1st grade’ and this time, it received a full score of 100 points. The overall average of the medical institutions evaluated this time was 89.7 points, and the average of general hospitals of the same type was 91.5 points.
The anesthesia adequacy assessment was conducted from 2018 (1st) for general hospitals and upper-level general hospitals to improve the quality of medical care in the anesthesia field and to lay the foundation for patient safety management. It comprehensively evaluates the following: △Average monthly anesthesia time per anesthesiologist in the department of anesthesiology and pain medicine △Operation of recovery rooms △Rate of patient evaluations before anesthesia △Rate of nausea and vomiting and pain scores measured in the recovery room △Rate of patients maintaining normal body temperature (35.5℃ or higher) during and after anesthesia.
