Previously, BPA obtained certification in the ‘Rural ESG Practice Recognition System’ last December for three consecutive years.
The ‘Rural ESG Practice Recognition System’ is a system that evaluates and recognizes an organization’s win-win cooperation with rural and fishing villages and ESG practice activities for the sustainable development of agriculture, fishing and fishing villages.
This selection is an example that proves that BPA is continuously expanding win-win cooperation and ESG practices with rural areas, and is evaluated as an important achievement contributing to the creation of local economy and social value.
Busan Port Authority has actively participated in the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries’ revitalization of fishery product consumption by participating in the fishery product consumption promotion project, and has worked hard to support specialized fishing villages near Busan Port, such as support for developing sales channels for fishing villages and scholarship programs for children of fishermen.
In particular, we actively participated in government policies to respond to the extinction of fishing villages by participating in the empty house regeneration project in fishing villages organized by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries and encouraging the stable settlement of fishing villages.
BPA CEO Kang Jun-seok said, “We will continue to play our role as a leading rural ESG organization for the sustainable development and growth of local farming and fishing villages, and further expand win-win cooperation activities to revitalize local farming and fishing villages.”
