Businessman 7 pieces, lover arrested in love dispute

7 pieces of dead body recovered from a lake in Purbachal suburb of Rupganj, Narayanganj have been identified. His name is Jasim Uddin Masum. He is a gamesman by profession. The businessman, who won the best taxpayer award for love affairs, was reportedly hacked into 7 pieces after his murder.

A woman named Ruma Akhter has been arrested by the police in this incident. According to the confession of the arrested Ruma Akhtar, Chapati, Hesco blade, Safari and Saw used in the murder were recovered.

Narayanganj District Superintendent of Police Pratyush Kumar Majumdar has confirmed the truth of the matter. Earlier on Wednesday morning, the body was recovered from Brahmankhali lake in Purbachal sub-town of the upazila.

In a press briefing at the Superintendent of Police office on Thursday afternoon, Superintendent of Police Pratyush Kumar Majumder said that at around 9 am on Wednesday, there was news that the body of an unidentified person was lying in a bag on the bank of the lake in Sector 5 of Purbachal suburb. Later, the police went to the spot and found the unidentified man’s severed head, two hands, two severed legs, severed back of chest, severed abdomen and other body parts wrapped in a white polythene. They were sent to Narayanganj Sadar Hospital Morgue. Later, a murder case was filed in Rupganj police station.

Fax messages are sent wirelessly to various police stations of Narayanganj district and other surrounding districts to identify the metropolitan victim. Later, the identity of the body was identified – his name is Jasim Uddin Masum. He is a businessman. Regarding the incident, a team of police with the help of Rupganj Thana Police collected information from Jasim Uddin Masum’s driver, Malek Mia, collected CCTV footage, reviewed it and identified the suspect through information technology.

Later, Ruma Akhtar, who was involved in the murder, was arrested from a rented house in Sheorapara of Kafrul in the capital. According to his information about Ruma Akhtar, a chapati used in the murder, a Hesco blade, a safari worn by businessman Zamim Uddin Masum, a pair of shoes were recovered and a statement was taken.

The SP said that the initial interrogation revealed that the woman committed the murder over a love affair. The operation is on to nab the other accused involved in the incident.
