Busy week in the Turkish Grand National Assembly: The budgets of 5 ministries will be discussed

Busy work in the Turkish Grand National Assembly will continue in the new week. Discussions on the bill containing regulations in the field of internal security will begin in the General Assembly of the Parliament. With the proposal, the upper limit of the prison sentence for those who carry, purchase or possess unlicensed weapons will be increased to 4 years. Those who illegally import or sell gun parts into the country will be sentenced to imprisonment from 5 to 12 years.

With the regulation, those who carry or possess blank firing weapons converted into firearms may be sentenced to up to 4 years in prison. Depending on the number and nature of the gun parts found, the penalty may increase to 8 years.

The penalty for unauthorized use of flashlights will be increased to 96 thousand liras.
With the proposal, the penalty for using unauthorized flashlights in traffic will become a deterrent. The fine will be increased 15 times to 96 thousand liras. In case of repetition of the crime, the penalty will increase to 192 thousand liras. In addition, the vehicle will be banned from traffic for a month and the driver’s license will be confiscated for the same period.

2025 budget presentations will be made

Budget work in the Parliament will continue in the new week. During the week, the budgets of the Ministries of Energy and Natural Resources, Health, Internal Affairs, Foreign Affairs, Culture and Tourism will be discussed. Ministers will make their 2025 budget presentations at the Planning and Budget Commission and answer the questions of MPs.

On the other hand, the bill containing technical regulations in the field of environment and urban planning is expected to be submitted to the Presidency of the Parliament in the new week.
