BYD E-Vali: Up to 7-meter-long electric space giant

There is currently a huge commercial vehicle fair going on in Hannover and it is the IAA Transportation show where the Chinese BYD presents the E-Vali. The BYD E-Vali is a light commercial vehicle on paper, but don’t expect it to be a small van. The opposite is true. The BYD E-Vali is truly enormous. The BYD E-Vali has been presented in two lengths, the largest of which extends over a distance of no less than 7 meters. There is a distance of no less than 4.55 meters between the front and rear axles of that long version. So you can easily park a Volkswagen Golf Hatchback between that. The shorter version is also no small fry with a length of 6 meters and a wheelbase of 3.87 meters. BYD E-Vali The E-Vali always has an 80.64 kWh battery pack. The BYD Blade Battery is large enough for an electric range of 250 kilometers. There will be a rear-wheel drive version with a 204 hp electric motor on the rear axle and a four-wheel drive version that also has a 136 hp electric motor on the front axle. Fast charging is possible with up to 180 kW. The top speed of the most powerful version is 120 km/h, with the 136 hp version you have to be satisfied with a top speed of 90 km/h. More figures? We have. The maximum load capacity is 700 to 1,450 kilos and the largest E-Vali has a loading volume of no less than 18.9 cubic meters. BYD sees a role for the E-Vali mainly in the courier world and for last-mile delivery. The front of the E-Vali in particular is striking with the headlights placed relatively low and the enormous windscreen. The bus includes folding front seats, large digital displays and a passage from the cabin to the loading space. An extensive package of ADAS systems is standard. For example, the E-Vali has adaptive cruise control, Forward Collision Warning, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Lane Departure Assist, blind spot detection and so on. Whether and when the BYD E-Vali will be available in the Netherlands is not yet known at the time of writing. We are awaiting a response from the Dutch importer.
