One of the favorite products of the ending CES 2025 trade fair event was Roborock’s Saros Z70 robot vacuum cleaner. The attention value was guaranteed by the robot arm it contained. Muropaketti visited to see if the product’s performance lives up to the promises. Based on the demo event, it could work, at least if there is enough skill to teach the device.
Roborock released its new flagship models during the CES 2025 event in Las Vegas. As we told you before, the manufacturer’s new Saros flagship series consists of three models: Saros Z70, Saros 10 and Saros 10R.
The Saros Z70 was on display in the manufacturer’s demo room in a hotel located in the heart of Las Vegas, although the device representing the pre-series was still rolling on its carpet. There was nothing amazing about the basic masonry in itself, but a robot arm could also be seen in the space.
Since it was not yet a production version, the tasks given to it were not overwhelming either. In the video below, you can see how the robot vacuum cleaner performs when removing a piece lying on the floor out of its way.
Even this procedure will not be successful without proper preparation. First of all, the vacuum cleaner does not recognize any objects. There are, however, 108 products that can be picked up for it in advance. In addition to them, you can teach 50 more objects in the device’s application. This sounds like an amount that should be enough for many households already. However, the weight of objects to be moved may be less than 300 grams.
The robot arm has been made to fit in a surprisingly low device. The Saros Z70 is only a few millimeters or eight centimeters high, so it fits even under fairly low furniture despite the hand.
Right from the fly, the robot does not pick up objects, because it maps the space first, and picks up the objects only after that. The device is also taught the place to which it must transport the picked-up objects – so it doesn’t just randomly move them away from in front of it.
In demo mode, the robot vacuum repeated the picking operation reliably, and even surprisingly quickly. At least in your pet household, the toys of furry friends are often around. The Roborock Saros Z70 could be the solution to the fact that at least they don’t leave places uncleaned. During the fair, there was also a real buzz at the manufacturer’s fair stand, so the device has the potential to be a favorite in the field of robot vacuum cleaners.
