Back to the neighborhood of Can Carreres, which this Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 July celebrates its Festes de Sant Jaume. The Association of Neighbors has prepared a compendium of events among which the Saturday dinner, and the sausage sizzle and the show of the new Cultural Association of Artists of Bar de Martorell on Sunday stand out. All the activities will take place in Paseo de Catalunya, next to the social premises of the organizing entity.
Saturday will be a day full of activities from early in the morning. The first will be the traditional children’s chocolate party (09.30h), followed “by an exhibition of handicrafts and activities that can be seen from 10.00 to 13.00h, and which have been made by the members of the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Association, an organization that meets at the AV premises once or twice a week to make these wonderful handicrafts”, explains Can Carreres AV board member Ferran Vidiella.
Another organization, the Martorell Chess Club, also collaborates with the neighborhood party, organizing a chess tournament that will start at 11.00am.

Already in the evening, as a prologue to the fraternity dinner, a resident of the neighborhood will be recognized “for her voluntary work towards the elderly during the isolation during the confinement of the Covid-19 pandemic”, as Vidiella points out. It will be around 8.40pm.
Then the popular dinner will begin (9:00 p.m.), where everyone will have to bring food from home. You will need to reserve a table in advance by going to the AV premises, at number 3 on Passeig de Catalunya. The evening will be accompanied by a bread raffle with creations by members of the Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Association, around 10.45pm. Afterwards, DJ Alex Sánchez will liven up the evening with music.

Sunday morning there will be the popular sausage in front of the premises from 09.00h. The ticket price will be 5 euros and can be purchased there. As a colophon to the morning, from 10.00 to 13.00h, the XIV Cava Plaques Meeting will take place, in Paseo de Catalunya.

Finally, in the afternoon (7:00 p.m.) a party will be held in which the new Cultural Association of Artists of the Bar de Martorell will be presented to the crowd, which will offer a musical show and an open mic space for everyone who brings a musical instrument is added, in which it could be considered one jam session. At the appointment, which lasts about three hours, there will be bar service.
Vidiella invites everyone to stop by “one of the oldest neighborhood parties in Martorell. We are pleased to invite all the residents of our town. We hope you have a good time.” From the board of the AV, the neighbors are asked “to decorate the balconies of their houses” for the occasion and “a thank you to the collaborators for their work”.
