Car stolen from the parking lot of a supermarket, recovered by the police using the Spike system
- A car left with the engine running in the parking lot of a supermarket in Tecuci was stolen on Friday, around 10:30 a.m., according to the Galati County Police Inspectorate.
- The incident was reported by calling 112, and the police established road filters to detect the vehicle.
Around 12:20 p.m., the car was identified on a road in Griviţa locality by the policemen of Section 3 Liesti Police – Griviţa Police Station. Since the driver did not respect the stop signals, the police used the Spike system (strips with spikes) to block him.
The driver, a 31-year-old man from Tecuci, was immobilized and taken to the police headquarters for investigation. He was detained for 24 hours by the policemen of the Criminal Investigations Bureau of the Tecuci Municipality Police, being investigated for theft for the purpose of use.
The man is to be presented on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Tecuci Court, with the proposal to take a preventive measure.
