Daniele Virgili hit by a carabiniere: leg amputated after the accident
Daniele Virgili’s family reconstructed the events of November 6th with the press. The young local police officer was on the Tiburtinaaround 9pm, to complete the measurements following an accidenttogether with two other policemen.
During the operations, a car arrived at crazy speed and overwhelmed the police. On board the vehicle, a policeman which, according to available information, it was drunk at the time of the accident.

The 25-year-old was violently hit in the legs and was able to contact his family shortly before the paramedics arrived. Its conditions they appeared immediately very seriousso much so that Virgili, unfortunately, subsequently had his left leg amputated.
The family’s anger
The family’s story is full of pain mixed with anger. Daniele’s brother, Riccardo Virgili, told of the phone call the 25-year-old received immediately after the accident. “He said to me: ‘I love you, you have been a great brother to me, but I am dying. I can’t see anymore and I no longer have legs‘”, Riccardo reported to RomaToday.
Furthermore, he added that the policeman who hit his brother would have had a arrogant and brazen attitude.
“Seeing my brother like this, with this drunk person laughingit killed me”, continued Riccardo Virgili.
Virgili’s father instead recalled that the agent has always been “dutiful, devoted; he couldn’t stand these people, and it was precisely by these people that he was hit”.
The family is now asking for it to be done justice for the young man.
The other two policemen are out of danger
At the time of the accident, as anticipated, Daniele Virgili was not alone: they were present with him two other colleagues of the police force. Fortunately, women they would not be in danger of life.
Virgili, however, is still in the intensive care unit of the San Camillo hospital in Rome.
