This simple yet delicious cake is a hit. It combines the fresh taste of apples with sweet caramel and crunchy nuts, making it ideal for autumn days.
Basic ingredients:
- 200 g plain flour
- 100 g of butter (can also be vegetable)
- 80 g of powdered sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon of baking powder
- A pinch of salt
For the filling:
- 4 medium-sized apples (preferably sour, like Granny Smith)
- 100 g walnuts (chopped)
- 50 g cukru (na caramel)

Procedure
- Preparing the dough:
- Mix the plain flour, icing sugar, baking powder and salt in a bowl.
- Add the chopped butter and eggs and make a dough. You can use a blender or your hands.
- Wrap the dough in foil and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preparation of apples:
- Wash, peel and cut the apples into thin slices.
- Mix apples with chopped walnuts and 50 g of sugar in a bowl.
- Roast:
- Preheat the oven to 180°C.
- Remove the dough from the refrigerator and roll it out to a thickness of about 0.5 cm.
- Fold the dough into a greased cake pan (diameter 24 cm) and create a rim.
- Spread the apple mixture with the nuts on the dough.
4. Caramel:
- Heat the sugar in a small saucepan until it melts and turns a caramel color. Be careful not to burn it.
- Carefully pour the caramel over the apple mixture.
5. Baking the cake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-40 minutes, until the pastry is golden and the apples are soft.
6. Administration:
- Allow the cake to cool before serving. You can serve it warm or cold, it’s also great with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
