The market has been showing new developments and the arrival of the rings seems to be a certainty. With several proposals already on the market, even Samsung has invested in this way of collecting user data. Casio is now also hoping to invest in this field, but with something completely different that has surprised the competition.
Casio also already has a ring with technology
Celebrating its 50th anniversary in the digital watch market, Casio announced the functional model of digital watch with ring CRW-001-1JR. The new model, which will be available next month with a price tag of approximately $150, follows Timex's recently launched watch.
With a size of just about 2.5 cm, the CRW-001-1JR attracts attention with a number of features. At the center of the watch is a six-segment LCD display that shows hours, minutes and seconds. The company has added three functional buttons to the miniature design. Thus, features such as date, different time zone and stopwatch can be used.
Additionally, the watch also includes a light that illuminates the screen and an alarm function that vibrates the screen instead of emitting sound. The battery that powers the CRW-001-1JR promises to last up to two years, according to Casio. Furthermore, the watch is waterproof and can withstand daily use.
CRW-001-1JR is different from what we expected
To capture the intricate details in larger digital watch models, Casio used metal injection molding, produced in a single piece. It should also be noted that the CRW-001-1JR is produced in a fixed size. Several pieces have been added to the box contents to accommodate smaller fingers.
Last year, Casio launched a collection inspired by iconic watches from the last fifty years. With the launch of the CRW-001-1JR, the company has taken a step forward. We remind you that the watch will be on sale at a price of US$150.
If brands like Oura or Samsung have a quieter and more discreet proposal in their rings, Casio seems to want to centralize everything in its ring. This proposal has a whole aesthetic line associated with the past, something that seems to please customers of its watches to this day.
