When you see the photos you almost think that someone has taken a watch from a mini world. Yet that is not the case. Casio has presented a new ring, and it looks exactly like the brand’s iconic retro watches.
The new one CRW-001-1JRCasio ring is reminiscent of the brand’s well-known vintage watches that you can often buy for a few tens of euros. Due to the fact that Casio has been making watches for 50 years, it has created a variant that you can wear on just one finger.
The ring is a real, working mini watch. You can set the time in two time zones. Six digital numbers show the time, and you can even use the ring as a stopwatch. You can also set an alarm clock that flashes the screen when it goes off.
The screen of the ring is just under 2 centimeters. Casio already showed a similar ring in the video below, but no official announcement was made.
Adjustable size
The ring can be operated with three buttons. They are on the sides. If the ring does not fit you, you can use the included half shims to make the fit smaller. The ring is said to be waterproof, which is of course very useful. The standard size of the ring is 20 mm.
The Casio ring will be released in December for the equivalent of around 120 euros. Unfortunately, for the time being this only seems to be happening in Japan. It remains to be seen whether the device will be released outside that country.
