THE CD Projekt Red she has quite a few things on her… plate right now. When we look at all the confirmed projects and add those that are still supported after release, it’s no surprise that the The Witcher 4 it’s still a long way off.
Statements made in a recent podcast indicate that the Witcher sequel is still a few years away. More specifically, the director of the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, Pawel Sasko, stated that most of the studio’s projects are in the “early stages.”
Sasko continued saying, “The only difference is the project Polaristhat is, the new Witcher saga, which will enter production, is the most advanced of all.”
This isn’t big news as we know that a significant portion of CD Projekt Red’s workforce has been transferred to the new Witcher title, but Sasko’s comments at least give us some form of clarity.
We now know that the next installment of the franchise has the lead in terms of production. Even so, it is still in its early stages. That means we’ll have to wait a few years before we see much of the game, though it’s possible the studio will release a teaser at some point to give us an idea of where we’re headed in terms of story and characters.
The The Witcher 4, codenamed Polaris, it’s the flagship video game for the studio, but CD Projekt Red has more in the works with a confirmed Cyberpunk 2077 sequel coming and several others based on the Witcher IP. While we may not see any of these games for the next few months, take heart in the knowledge that they are coming. For now, maybe play The Witcher 3 or Cyberpunk 2077 again.
