Luxury brand Montblanc kicks off the new lunar year of the Chinese calendar with a special capsule collection Masterpiece Selection Red and Blackconcerning leather accessories. The collection is defined by animal patterns and special interpretations of the iconic Montblanc emblem.
On the occasion of the Chinese Year, Montblanc has combined the timeless elegance of the signature leather accessories from the Meisterstück line with a bold animal motif inspired by the sign of the tiger, which this year takes over the imaginary scepter of the zodiac.
Masterpiece Selection Red and Black
The collection includes small and medium-sized accessories featuring – as the name suggests – subtle red details symbolizing luck and a new interpretation of the Montblanc emblem in black.
The name Meisterstück Selection Rouge et Noir refers to one of the first collections created between 1906 and 1907 by the young, progressive Simplo Filler Pen Company, which later became famous under the name Montblanc.
Red and black
Rouge et Noir writing utensils made of black hard rubber and equipped with a red-tipped cap bore a French name evoking an elegant lifestyle and at the same time referring to the classic color combination on roulette. This effective visual metaphor was often used in its time for advertising purposes as well as for the presentation of accessories in stores.
Capsule collection
The new Meisterstück Selection Rouge et Noir collection, characterized by a red edging contrasting with an all-black design, thus pays tribute to the heritage of the House of Montblanc.
Animal patterns
While Montblanc’s rich heritage has influenced the name and craftsmanship of the Meisterstück Selection Rouge et Noir collection, its design has been conceived for creative and avant-garde users. The tiger print applied to the leather complements the black chain, enhancing the already distinctive look. The shape of the leather loop on the zippers, in turn, resembles the nib of Montblanc fountain pens as a pioneer of writing culture.
