(CES @ 2025): Acer expands its e-scooter lineup with three new models

While the majority of Acer’s announcements at this year’s CES revolved around laptops and other similar gaming notebook systems, the tech titan also unveiled a trio of new e-scooters.

Two of these are more traditional e-scooters that are well known as Series 4 Select and Series 5 Select, they aim to combine power and portability at a reasonable price. Both are very similar models that aim to travel at a maximum speed of around 20-25 km/h, have a maximum weight load of 120 kg, a folding design and 10″ tubeless tires. The main difference is that the Series 4 Select only has a single 400W rear motor that can provide a range of 45km and a five-hour charge time, while the Series 5 Select has a 500W motor that can cover you for distances of up to 60km.

The third and most disruptive model is named after Acer’s Predator gaming laptop series, the new Predator ES Storm, also foldable and featuring 500W motor and a 42V/16Ah lithium-ion battery that can provide a range of 60 km. It weighs around 20kg, has a maximum load of 120kg and tubeless tyres, but where it differs is in the complications, with this variant using a Kinetic Energy Recovery System (KERS) to convert braking energy into power and extend lifespan of the battery. and also reduce wear on mechanical brakes. The Predator version also features turn signal lights on the handlebars and front fork suspension.

All three models feature IPX5 water protection certification and are designed to reduce carbon emissions as well. The three new models are slated to debut in the first quarter of ’25.
