The CES in Las Vegas is almost over, but the name Consumer Electronics Show no longer covers it. The fair now prefers to profile itself as an innovation fair or testing ground for groundbreaking technologies, where the American machine manufacturer John Deere, for example, quietly demonstrates a huge autonomously driving electric tractor. Where flying taxis for human transport are set up, professional health products are also explained.
During CES 2025, the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced the 2025 Global Innovation Scorecard On. This scorecard measures the political, economic and demographic factors that drive innovation. Our Minister of Economic Affairs Dirk Beljaarts is also among the first Innovation Champions.
CES 2025 takes place amid renovations (nearly $500 million) that will give the facade of the Las Vegas Convention Center a more streamlined character after the construction of the enormous West Hall, which focuses mainly on mobility. The former Sands Expo – now called The Venetian Convention & Expo Center – is there for the smaller inventors.
The advertising and media industry gathered, as it does every year, at the ARIA Resort & Casino, where Amazon Ads, among others, stood out with a large stand.
CES expects 138,000 visitors this week. 40 percent come from outside the US. There are 4500 exhibitors, including 1400 startups.
