Pafos – CFR Cluj Live Video Online, from 22:00, in the return leg of the Conference League play-off

The qualification of CFR Cluj in the Conference League groups would bring a significant amount of money for the club patronized by Ioan Varga, considering that UEFA would reward the team with 3.17 million euros. This would mark CFR’s return to Europe’s third-highest competition after a two-year absence. In the previous season, CFR Cluj was eliminated from the competition in the second preliminary round by the Turkish team Adana Demirspor, with an overall score of 2-3. Qualifying this season would be a significant step for the team, both financially and sportingly.

Dan Petrescu, the coach of CFR Cluj, prefaced the return match from the Conference League play-off against the Cypriot team Pafos. In his trademark style, ‘The Badger’ once again underlined the value of his opponents, highlighting that his side will face a difficult game despite their 1-0 victory in the first leg. Petrescu drew the attention of his players not to underestimate the opponent and to be prepared for a tough fight for qualification in the groups of the competition.

“Of course I maintain my opinion. I am the only one aware of what awaits us, because I have seen their matches. Those who haven’t seen any match give their opinion, but I saw it. I am convinced that it will be very difficult for us. We have to have a fantastic fighting spirit and a bit of luck, that’s for sure.

We have to be lucky with the refereeing, we have to be lucky with the weather, let there be no humidity. I am aware of their individual value and our players saw that in the video session. They will see it in the match as well”, declared Dan Petrescu at the press conference.

“We have come this far and it is the most important and difficult match until the next one. We know the difficulty of the team we have to face tomorrow. We believe in our team, we are positive and we can go to the league stage of the competition. We had some great chances that we couldn’t convert into goals. We didn’t take advantage of the numerical advantage and that was the key to the defeat in Romania. We have to be more cynical and find the homogeneity of our players that we had last season, not only for the match with CFR, but also for the championship.

The key is to be serious and try to score in the chances we get. We will be more aggressive because we have to take risks and find the qualification gap. From there we have to watch our backs. They are a good team that can counter attack. We will impose our own rhythm and score first”, said Juan Carlos Carcedo, the coach of the Cypriots from Pafos
