Prime Video has picked up another game. It is now clear which German clubs will play where in the premier football league this year.
The new football Champions League has been running since September – five German teams (Stuttgart, Leipzig, Bayern Munich, Dortmund and Leverkusen) are taking part in the competition. Prime Video has now also made the selection for the remaining matchday in December. The streamer can always choose the best game in his opinion from all Tuesday games. It is now clear that both of FC Bayern Munich’s remaining appearances in the competition will be shown on Prime. It was already clear that Amazon had chosen FCB on the next match day at the end of November. He will play against Paris St. Germain on November 26th at 9 p.m. – the broadcast is scheduled to start an hour earlier.
Something unusual: It will actually be FC Bayern Munich’s first game this season that Prime Video will broadcast. The previous appearances in the premier class, three of which took place on Wednesdays, were all on DAZN’s program. DAZN is the rights holder for all other CL games in a week. The game between Shakhtar Donetsk and FC Bayern Munich on December 10th will also be broadcast on Prime Video. This game also starts at 9 p.m., the Prime broadcast starts 60 minutes before. On the first four match days, Prime chose Leverkusen once, Stuttgart once and BVB twice.
Since this season: Prime-CL with a new presenter
This means: The games from Dortmund, Leipzig, Stuttgart and Leverkusen on matchdays 5 and 6 will all be shown live on DAZN, while ZDF will show summaries on Wednesdays at 11 p.m. FC Bayern fans may experience the new Prime broadcasts for the first time in the coming weeks. Sebastian Hellmann has no longer been leading the broadcasts since this season; instead, Alex Schlüter (formerly DAZN) was signed. And there was also a new addition to the expert position: footballer Christoph Kramer is now regularly in action. But Matthias Sammer also remains a member of Prime’s team of experts. The contracts with UEFA run until summer 2027, so they are relatively long. Nevertheless, it can be assumed that preparations for the next rights cycle will begin next year. The contracts have to be negotiated roughly by spring 2026.
