The police of Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Chandgaon police station arrested 9 persons with gambling equipment and money.
They were arrested from a house in Farid Para Zamirul Islam under Chandgaon police station of the city on Tuesday (November 19).
The arrested are – Md Ibrahim (42), Md Samchuddin (35), Md Nashir Uddin (40), Md Akhtar Kamal (28), Md Jasim (30), Md Akhtar Kamal (28), Md Shahid Ulya (46), Noor Mohammad (40), Noor Mohammad (40) and Waz Uddin Talukder (38).
According to the police, 9 people were arrested by conducting a raid on the basis of the information that a gambling party was held in a house of Zamirul Islam in Farid Para under Chandgaon police station. At this time, gambling equipment, cards and cash worth Tk 1,450 were seized.
A regular case has been registered against the detained accused in Chandgaon police station.
