Romanians will be able to use an application to find out all the necessary information about pensions. During a press conference, Minister Bogdan Ivan showed how the application will work and how it will help people.
Pension information application
Recently, in a press conference, Bogdan Ivan, the Minister of Digitization, spoke about the launch of an application that will enable Romanians to obtain all the information regarding their pension contributions and applications.
This app will be available from next year and will be a single point of information on pension data management.
Thus, according to the minister, the application will be interconnected with the service center of the Ministry of Labour. In this way, Romanians will no longer be forced to consult several websites to obtain information.
Within this application, Romanians will be able to find out information about:
- the total amount contributed
- remaining period until retirement
- penalties (in case of early retirement)
How does the app work?
Romanian citizens who have access to the application will be able to easily control the amount with which they have contributed to the pension fund until the moment of verification.
At the same time, the application will provide information on the total amount that Romanians still have to pay until they reach the necessary pension threshold.
Users will also be able to submit their pension applications directly through the app. This will put an end to long waiting times and eliminate red tape.
Finally, the application includes data on the penalties applied to Romanians who retire early.
How do you log into the app?
right Capitalthe Minister of Digitalization clearly explained the methods by which Romanians can log in to the application.
There are three methods:
- RO-ID: Romania’s national digital identification
- Biometrics: Similar to smartphones
- Username and Password: Users will be able to set a specific username and a unique password
Minister Ivan specified that the duration of the contract for the development of this application is 16 months.
Following discussions with the company responsible for the development, it is estimated that the basic module of the application will be ready by the end of this year, allowing the migration of the first services.
The final delivery date for the application is set for September 2025, with the first services available from late 2024 and early 2025.
“By interconnecting the service hub from the Ministry of Labor that has advanced as a technical application in recent months, it will be integrated with this unique application of the state with a single point of contact, and in this form what I said as applicability, people will also be able to submit their retirement applications, they will be able to see how much they need to contribute to retire, when they will retire, what is the penalty if they retire early, and all this information will be a single digital gateway, so to speak, where you could log in with your RO-ID or through biometric data, as we often do on the phone, or through a user password that each person sets individually ”, said Bogdan Ivan.
