“Change” vehicle operation in Ankara: 4 people detained

In a study conducted by the Ankara Police Department Public Security Branch Directorate, it was determined that the engines of the vehicles that were severely damaged in the earthquake and became unusable were installed in stolen, smuggled or seized vehicles of the same make and model.

As part of the investigation, 4 suspects were detained in an operation carried out at 4 different auto spare parts selling businesses in Ankara Auto Industry.

During the checks carried out at the workplaces, a total of 31 engines and 19 transmissions were seized, with illegible chassis numbers, erased and unidentified vehicles, with arrest warrants and of foreign origin.

It was learned that the seized parts will be examined by experts in the crime laboratory.
