Changes in the flight list at Riga Airport are possible due to global IT disruptions / Day

Airport representatives invite passengers to follow up-to-date information and contact airlines in case of flight changes.

At the same time, the representatives of the Latvian national airline “airBaltic” told the LETA agency that “airBaltic” does not use “Crowdstrike” software – “airBaltic” IT security solutions are based on another system that currently works without problems.

LETA has already reported that widespread IT disruptions affecting airlines, media and banks are being reported in Great Britain, Australia, Germany and elsewhere in the world.

The British broadcasting organization BBC and other media report that the cause of the disruption is unknown, but the US computer software giant “Microsoft” has announced that it is taking measures to reduce the impact of the disruption. Microsoft said that users may not be able to access some Microsoft apps and services for the time being.

In Great Britain, railway companies reported extensive IT problems, the Sky News TV channel was unable to broadcast live and the website of the London Stock Exchange was disrupted.

Flights are canceled or delayed at airports in the UK and elsewhere in the world. Major US airlines, including United and Delta, have suspended all flights.

Berlin and Edinburgh airports and airports in Spain have also reported problems in their IT systems. In Australia, problems have been identified by the country’s largest international airport, telecommunications companies and the media.
