Charles Leclerc flies to pole in Baku as Lando Norris again misses Max Verstappen’s troubles

There is no one who can handle it. Charles Leclerc in BakuThe Monegasque driver has taken his fourth consecutive pole position on the Azerbaijan street circuit, and he has done so with a staggering advantage. More than three-tenths of a second ahead of Oscar Piastri, who has become the only McLaren.

Red Bull have improved, but they still have problems. Of course, that is not too much of a concern when you are up against a driver like Lando Norris, who has once again wasted a golden opportunity by making a mistake in Q1 and being eliminated from the race at the first opportunity. Norris will start seventeenth.

Alonso is the best of the rest and heroic performance by Franco Colapinto

Charles Leclerc is the big favourite to win in BakuHe has shown once again that he is clearly the fastest, taking an astronomical pole position of 1:41.365. Given Ferrari’s pace and lack of wear and tear in recent races, it will be difficult to overtake Leclerc in the race.

Leclerc has put three tenths on Piastri and four on Carlos Sainz, who will start in the clean zone and as a Ferrari soldier. This race could be crucial for both Leclerc and Ferrari see their world championship hopes revived of drivers and constructors. Since their rivals seem to be somewhat lost.

Lando Norris has made a historic mistake, being eliminated in Q1 due to an unnecessary error. Max Verstappen is suffering in Bakueven surpassed by Sergio Pérez, who is the best Red Bull this time. The Mexican will start fourth, while Verstappen will start sixth, but knowing that his great rival is behind him.

Mercedes seems a bit down in Baku. George Russell holds his own with a fifth place, but that’s because Lewis Hamilton finished seventh, almost a second off poleHamilton is struggling all weekend and is almost attacked by Fernando Alonso, who is once again the best of the rest.

Alonso will start eighth in Baku, just a tenth slower than Hamilton with an Aston Martin that is clearly not up to such speed. Of course, the heroes of the day are the two rookies on the grid: Franco Colapinto and Oliver Bearman have shone on a circuit that is not at all easy for beginners.

Colapinto made it into Q3 and beat his teammate, Alexander Albon, who was played a trick by Williams by leaving the fan on before his last attempt. Colapinto will start ninth, while Bearman will start eleventh with the Haas, almost in Q3 and well ahead of his veteran teammate, Nico Hülkenberg.
