Recently announced, the arrival of artificial intelligence is now a reality at Škoda: the voice assistant Laura now integrates ChatGPT.
Like other brands of the Volkswagen Group, Škoda launch theChatGPT chatbot integrationbased on AI, in its in-car voice assistant called Laura. The famous conversational agent will be available on the Škoda Enyaq, Superb, Kodiaq and Octavia.

This update allows you to:Enriching the capabilities of the Laura voice assistantallowing it to answer even more varied questions. If the user’s question does not fit into the categories “Vehicle”, “Data”, “Weather”, “News”, “Sports” or “Stocks”, it will be automatically directed to the Chat Pro solution from Cerence, a technology partner of the Volkswagen Group, which integrates ChatGPT technology.
In practice, the Laura voice assistant can be used to control, for example, the infotainment system, GPS navigation or air conditioning, as well as to answer general knowledge questions. The voice assistant can be controlled easily, using the voice command “Okay, Laura”, or by pressing the dedicated button on the steering wheel. If the Škoda system cannot respond to the request, it is transmitted anonymously to AI the ChatGPT.
Laura will then respond by starting with “According to ChatGPT…”, to inform the user of the intervention of the artificial intelligence tool, which can be disabled via privacy settings of the vehicle’s infotainment system, except on board the Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé where the function always remains active.
Available languages and compatible models
Artificial intelligence will make it possible toenrich the features of the Laura voice assistant, and provide additional information in response to broader questions, while constantly improving its capabilities. For example, during a car journey, this allows you to benefit from enriched conversations, obtain further clarification on questions, or interact in more intuitive language, while receiving vehicle-specific information.
Škoda also wants to reassure its customers that ChatGPT is not able to access vehicle data or personal information, and that all requests are processed anonymously. The interaction data is then deleted immediately after processing, in order to guarantee data protection at the highest level.
To benefit from ChatGPT on board their Škoda, users must have an activated “Infotainment Online” pack, and a compatible vehicle model, based on the MEB GP and MQB EVO platforms and equipped with the latest generation of the infotainment system. In detail, the compatible models include the Škoda Superb and Kodiaq new generation, the Skoda Octavia restyled, as well as the Too bad Enyaq equipped with the new software version 2024.
The languages currently supported for the use of ChatGPT at Škoda are English, Spanish, Czech and German, while the French will be offered soon.
