Ann Altman, the sister of ChatGPT founder Sam Altman, filed a lawsuit alleging that she was regularly sexually harassed by her brother between 1997 and 2006.
In the lawsuit filed in the US state of Missouri on January 6, it was claimed that Ann Altman was three years old and Sam Altman was 12 years old when the harassment began.
Altman, the number one name of OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT, one of the world’s most used artificial intelligence programs, rejected the allegations in a joint statement published with his mother and two brothers.
“All these allegations are completely false. It is extremely difficult to care for a family member with mental health problems,” the statement said.
Sam Altman claimed that he supported his sister financially, paid her rent and bills every month, and offered to buy a house, but his sister “kept asking for more money.”
In the court records seen by the BBC, Ann Altman accused her brother of “manipulating her, raping and harassing her for years, and touching her in ways she didn’t want.”
He has made the allegations before
It was noted that Ann Altman suffered “physical injuries and severe emotional distress and depression.”
It was reported that the costs of the physical and mental treatments he had to receive for his injuries were heavy.
Ann Altman had previously made similar accusations on social media channels such as X and Medium.
In the case records, it was claimed that the most recent harassment took place when Sam Altman was an adult and Ann Altman was still a minor.
Sam Altman said in his statement that “they worked hard to support his brother, and this situation was extremely painful to them.”
Billionaire Sam Altman, who married his partner Oliver Mulherin last year, is one of the most powerful names in the technology world.
OpenAI created ChatGPT in 2022.
Last year, Sam Altman returned to head the company after being fired by the board of directors.
