ChatGPT’s Windows Application Opened to All Users

Last October, OpenAI released an early trial version of ChatGPT for Windows computers. This published application could initially be used by ChatGPT Plus, Team, Enterprise and Edu users. Today, OpenAI announced that its Windows application is available to all users.

OpenAI has made many improvements since releasing ChatGPT’s Windows implementation. A recent update allows users to take a photo with their PC or laptop’s webcam and add it directly to their conversation with ChatGPT. The update also allows users to adjust text scaling using the Ctrl + or Ctrl – keyboard shortcuts.

Earlier this month, the company released an update supporting Enhanced Voice Mode for ChatGPT’s Windows application, allowing users to have more natural, real-time conversations and search chat history.

Along with expanded ChatGPT app availability on Windows, OpenAI also announced that the ChatGPT desktop app for macOS can now work with apps on your desktop. Given the necessary permissions, this feature can understand common development tools such as VS Code, Xcode, Terminal and iTerm2, read and write to applications. OpenAI said it also plans to add support for more applications in the future.
