Check Google TV Streamer battery level: this is how it works

Wondering whether the batteries in the remote control of your Google TV Streamer need to be replaced? We explain how to check the battery level and then replace the batteries.

Check Google TV Streamer remote battery level

The new Google TV Streamer remote control can make sounds if you have lost the device, you can use it to perform voice commands and of course control all streaming services. If you use these functions a lot, the batteries will eventually run out.

Of course, you don’t want to suddenly find yourself with empty batteries, causing the remote control to no longer work. Fortunately, there is a way to check the battery level. For this you have to delve into the settings menu.

In the main screen of the Google TV Streamer, go to the gear icon and choose ‘All settings’ to go to the settings menu. Then go down until you find ‘Remotes and accessories’. There you will see the remote control that is linked to your TV Streamer. The battery level is indicated on the remote control.

Replace battery

Do the batteries need replacing? Then you can easily change them. To do this, first slide off the cover on the back of the remote control by placing your finger on the notch and using a little force to slide the cover away. You remove the batteries by using your finger to pry the batteries out at the top (not on the side with the spring). Or you gently hit your palm with the remote control so that the batteries fall into your hand.

Then insert two new AAA batteries, both with the minus side down and the plus side up. Then don’t forget to slide the cover back onto the remote control.

Last longer with the batteries

Do you want to last as long as possible with the batteries in the Google TV Streamer remote control? Then use as few voice commands as possible, but simply control the device with the buttons.

A set of batteries should last you at least several months, and in most cases even a lot longer. If you notice that the batteries drain much faster, there may be something wrong with your remote control.
