At this year’s GIIAS, PT Chery Sales Indonesia (CSI) introduced for the first time an electric vehicle that fills the small SUV segment in Indonesia, namely the iCar 03.
The first introduction of this car marks a significant step by Chery in presenting electric vehicle innovations with a vision of technology, the future, the environment and ecology.
For interested visitors, you can pre-book the iCar 03, with a down payment of only IDR 10 million. Chery plans to start shipping this unit in Q1 2025.
Head of Brand Department PT CSI, Rifkie Setiawan said, iCar 03 is designed to be able to go beyond driving limits, with a masculine design typical of an SUV and tough performance for all terrains.
“With all these advantages, we are confident in positioning the iCar 03 as the first EV off-road car in Indonesia,” explained Rifkie during the introduction, Thursday.
Chery iCar 03 carries a cube-box design with dimensions of 4,338 mm long and 1,855 mm high. This composition strengthens the impression of being dashing, elegant and aesthetic to devour various road terrains.
Chery’s engineering team also succeeded in designing this product to be more flexible, where the detailed dimensions of the distance between the wheels and the front and rear bumpers are designed to be shorter.
So it creates a wider angle for maneuvering on damaged roads, and is claimed to be very suitable for outdoor activities anytime and anywhere.
In terms of technology, iCar 03 is embedded with breakthroughs in energy efficiency. Through the use of lightweight materials and cutting-edge technology, Chery is able to reduce its weight by 30% and reduce energy consumption by 3%.
There are eight driving modes that can be selected and adjusted to the road conditions. Plus 6 airbags that provide comprehensive protection from various directions.
Another advantage is the ability to conquer puddles. With IP67 wires and inserts, and IP X8 and IP X9K for batteries, the iCar 03 is capable of crossing puddles with a maximum depth of 600 mm.
Additionally, the advanced completely sealing time system ensures the vehicle remains watertight for up to six minutes, providing extra protection for critical components.
