Kashefa Moni, a one-and-a-half-year-old child died after drowning in a pond in Shilkoop Union of Banskhali Upazila. The deceased child Kashefa is the daughter of Morshedul Alam of Ward No. 7 of Shilkoop Union.
The accident happened on Thursday (October 17) around 9:30 am.
It is known that the child fell into the pond while playing in the backyard. The family members found him floating in the water of the nearby pond at one stage of the search. Locals rescued him and took him to Banshkhali Hospital, where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
The doctor on duty at Banskhali Hospital said that the child died before being brought to the hospital.
