(Busan = Newsis) Reporter Ha Kyung-min = Busan Suyeong-gu announced on the 19th that it will hold the ‘2024 Children’s Clam Digging Experience Event’ at Gwangalli Beach on the 27th to coincide with the peak summer vacation season.
This event, held on the beach in front of the administrative service office at Gwangalli Beach, will have an expanded experience water area and children’s pool experience area compared to last year, and the district plans to install cooling fog and shade canopies to prepare for the heat wave.
Participation is limited to children of elementary school age and younger, and only one guardian is allowed to accompany preschool children (toddlers). After the event, adults can enjoy swimming and collect seaweed with their bare hands.
For this event, the district plans to simultaneously scatter about 1.5 tons of shellfish at a depth of about 1m in the experience area before the start of the event. After the shellfish are scattered, children can freely catch the shellfish using only their hands and feet without using any tools, and the shellfish they catch can be taken home to be cooked and eaten.
Suyeong-gu District Mayor Kang Seong-tae said, “I expect that this children’s clam digging experience event will provide visitors to Gwangalli Beach with memories of the summer sea.”
