China through the eyes of Honor Magic7 Pro. Top camera with 200 MP telephoto lens in practice

There was a streak in the domestic Chinese market Honor Magic7 presented at the end of October this year. Arrival on the global market is expected at the beginning of next year, and we, together with another Slovak editorial team, were able to try the new product on our own skin ahead of time.

Honor invited representatives of selected European media to its laboratory and factory in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, where it manufactures its smartphones. Our editorial team was also there, so we took a closer look at everything.

Honor Magic7 will also come to Slovakia

A model from the latest flagship series will be sold in Slovakia Honor Magic7 Prowhose attraction is high-end cameras, while it not only delivers quality results main 50 MP sensor, but also periscopic telephoto lenswho is proud 200 MP sensor, 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom. Optical stabilization and PDAF focusing are a matter of course.

You can see how the cameras fared in our short test in the photos in the article. The main camera and the telephoto lens did a very good job and did not disappoint wide angle 50 MP camera with a 122° angle, which can also be used for macro shots.

AI helps with quality results

In addition to high-quality hardware, i.e. sensors, lenses and the powerful 3 nm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, postprocessing plays an important role – software modification after shooting. Honor enlisted the help of artificial intelligence, which will be used to take photos and edit them later in the Gallery. Here you have available, for example AI Vanishing to remove unwanted objects.

The help of AI can be seen especially when using the telephoto lens. You will achieve the best results with a lower zoom, i.e. 3x optical, but also with a 10x or 20x digital zoom. But even the maximum 100x zoom no longer brings as significant digital noise as it used to. However, it is still there, we cannot expect “miracles”. But the results were a pleasant surprise.

Probably no one will use such a significant zoom on the phone often, it will serve rather to zoom in on distant objects, for example when you want to read an inscription that you can’t see with the naked eye or look at anything else that interests you and you don’t have binoculars at hand. 🙂

Fast moving objects are not a problem either

The Honor Magic7 Pro offers very nice results not only during the day, but also at night, and it has no problem capturing sharp shots of fast-moving objects. You may appreciate this when photographing children who are constantly on the move, or even animals. You can also use continuous shooting at a speed of 10 frames per second.

With the Magic7 Pro, you have a versatile camera that can easily handle day and night images full of details, wide-angle shots with very good color rendering, and the telephoto lens is used not only for zooming in on objects, but also for taking portraits. Then we recommend choosing a special mode Harcourtwith which you will have portraits as if from a professional photo studio. They are especially effective in black and white.

We will bring you a more detailed experience with the new Honor Magic7 Pro only after more thorough testing, which we in the editorial office are already looking forward to. But it probably won’t happen before the beginning of next year. Upon arrival on our market, the new Honor series will be a strong competitor for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series, the premium model of the Xiaomi brand, while the new Xiaomi 15 series will also arrive next year. It will also be a competitor for last year’s Honor Magic6 Pro, which is still among the top photo mobiles.
