Together with the award, Madris will receive a scholarship of 1500 euros, while Bebrish will receive a cash prize of 500 euros.
The chairman of the jury of the Art Criticism of the Year Award, Ilmārs Šlāpins, expresses his joy that this year, for the tenth time evaluating the best examples of art criticism, it was possible to nominate authors whose names have not yet been included in the nominee lists.
“This does not mean that they have only recently started writing, on the contrary – this is proof that talent or daring are not enough for a good art critic, it also requires work, experience as an evaluator of art processes, professional skills and the baggage of impressions accumulated over many years ,” says Ilmārs Šlāpins, chairman of the jury of the Year Award in Art Criticism.
It has already been reported that the jury nominated Erika Apali, Júlija Dybovska, Madri and Ieva Viesi for the award for their work in criticism of various art fields. This year, the Award of the Year in Art Criticism was presented for the tenth time.
The Ministry of Culture has given the status of an award of national significance to the Annual Award in Art Criticism named after Normunds Naumans and supports the award ceremony NN Night.
This year it took place in the New Riga Theater with the motto Letter Rebellion.

Authors who worked in the field of theater, cinema, literature, music, visual art, architecture, design and dance art criticism during the past year could apply for the Art Criticism Award and the New Critic Promotion Award. The award is presented once a year.
