For many manufacturers, this also meant an inevitable break with tradition regarding the image that had been built for decades. The French, however, managed to fight this trend, so they constructed a worthy replacement for the C5. The new C5 X is not a typical SUV. It retained the character of a sedan, but it also became a crossover. At the same time, it received a liftback body shape with five doors, characteristic of the C5 of the first generation but also the famous Citroen XM. We were interested in how Citroen managed to make the new model sufficiently different compared to all others from the PSA group, with which it shares some mechanical components.
