Civil society calls on G20 leaders to step up the fight against climate change and hunger – World

Civil society organizations from G20 member countries appealed this Saturday in the Brazilian city of Rio de Janeiro to intensify the fight against climate change and redouble efforts to eradicate hunger.

In the final declaration of the G20 Social, to which the Lusa agency had access, civil society leaders call on countries from the 20 largest economies in the world to join with “urgency and top priority” the Global Alliance against Hunger and Poverty, promoted by the Brazilian head of state, Lula da Silva.

This alliance aims to accelerate progress in eliminating hunger and reducing poverty, exceeding the goals established in the 2030 Agenda.
