CJ Logistics announced on the 30th that it held the awards ceremony for the ‘Future Technology Challenge 2024’, a recruitment-linked logistics technology competition, at its headquarters in Jongno-gu, Seoul on the 29th.
This year, the 4th Future Technology Challenge had 164 teams and 291 participants. After the preliminary and final rounds, 7 teams advanced to the final presentation (PT), and as a result of the evaluation, 1 gold and 2 silver teams were honored with awards.
The judging was conducted by researchers at CJ Logistics TES Logistics Technology Research Institute, and comprehensively evaluated problem-solving skills and originality.
The gold medal of honor went to Chungbuk National University’s ‘TES-type’ team, which completed the ‘Health Management Application Development’ project. The project was to develop an application that checks the health of workers at logistics sites in real time using smartwatches. The ‘TES-type’ team, which passed the preliminary round with the highest score, also presented a high-quality presentation in the final PT and took home the gold medal. The ‘TES-type’ team received high praise from the judges, especially for the completeness of the application’s functions.
Kim Sang-su (25 years old, Chungbuk National University, Software Department), who won the gold prize, said, “I was able to experience how the knowledge I learned from books can be applied to actual work while solving problems in actual logistics sites,” and added, “I hope that the projects I participated in will be helpful for actual projects.”
The silver award went to two teams: the ‘UOS Robotics’ team led by Park Jeong-hyeon from Seoul City University and the ‘Hwalgichacha’ team, consisting of three members including Lee Jeong-eun from Sookmyung Women’s University. The ‘UOS Robotics’ team performed the ‘Multi-Vehicle Routing’ task, developing an optimal order processing route algorithm using various types of vehicles, while the ‘Hwalgichacha’ team performed the same ‘Healthcare Application Development’ task as the gold award winning team.
This year, the Future Technology Challenge has expanded the hiring privileges that were previously only given to winners, and all 13 teams that advanced to the finals will be exempted from document screening and aptitude tests when applying for a job. In fact, 23 of the participants in the last three competitions have joined CJ Logistics TES Logistics Technology Research Institute, solidifying its role as a gateway for talent.
CJ Logistics TES Logistics Technology Research Center Director Kim Jeong-hee said, “The innovative approaches and passion shown by the participants in this competition have once again convinced us of the future growth potential of the logistics industry,” and “We will continue to work harder to secure talent by creating an environment where creative talent can take on challenges and grow.”
