THE Anthropic announced that the chatbot Claude is now available as application for Android. Following the introduction of the free iOS app in May, Android owners can now use the company’s AI on their mobile devices. The Android app is free and works with both Pro and Team plans for subscribed users. Chats with Claude can take place across devices, as both the mobile app and the web version are connected to each other.
This platform is one of many. Several AI chatbots of large language models are now publicly available. The tool ChatGPT της OpenAI has attracted the lion’s share and is already available in both Android and iOS applications, and is the basis for many functions of the new Apple Intelligence. However, it is possible that Claude has more powerful capabilities.
According to Anthropic, the release Claude 3 of the platform outperformed ChatGPT and Google’s Gemini in some important benchmarks. The Claude 3 Opus edition scored the highest in March and the Sonnet 3.5 edition did the same in June. We should always take this kind of comparison from one of the companies involved with a lot of caution. However, the jumps between Sonnet and Opus editions over the course of a few months seem impressive.
