Head of the Department of Meteorology and Climatology of the Faculty of Geography of Moscow State University, Professor Alexander Kislov spoke about the impact of political decisions on the situation with global warming.
“And what will happen next all depends on what decisions will be made at the political level now. If decisions are made to abruptly switch to alternative fuels throughout the world, not in individual countries. If China switched to alternative fuel, or India, or the entire European Union, then this would be the result,” he said in an interview with the radio station “Moscow speaks”.
In his opinion, if this happens, then perhaps by the end of the century the rate of warming will smooth out somewhat, but there will still be warming.
Earlier, Deputy Director of the Obukhov Institute of Atmospheric Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Alexander Chernokulsky, spoke about the consequences of climate change for Russia.
