The FCSB team from Bucharest defeated the leader Universitatea Cluj on Sunday evening, away, score 2-1, in the 16th stage of the Super League. The guests played more than 20 minutes in numerical inferiority.
The Bucharesters had to change the starting eleven after Vlad Chiricheș was injured during the warm-up. The first opportunity belonged to the hosts. Alexandru Bota took advantage of an error by Vali Crețu in the 6th minute, he shot from a distance, but Târnovanu rejected. Thiam also tried his luck in the 21st minute, then the visitors had to give up Octavian Popescu, who got injured and was replaced by Musi. The young player immediately provided the pass from which Bîrligea opened the scoring.
In the 50th minute, Bîrligea increased the difference on the table, scoring for 2-0 from Miculescu’s pass. Blănuță reduced the difference with a goal scored in the 85th minute, but FCSB won 2-1 and reached 5th place in the championship, with 24 points. Cluj University is the leader, with 30 points.
