Cold shower for Poland. The star of Liverpool sent our neighbors to the B division – Other – Football

Football players of Poland dropped out of the elite category of the League of Nations. In the final match of the 1st group of the A division, they lost at home to Scotland 1:2. The winning goal of the guests was scored in the third minute of added time by Liverpool FC defender Andy Robertson, and it was his strike that sent our northern neighbors to the B division.

The Scots took the lead in Poland from the 3rd minute when John McGinn headed home. At that time, only one goal separated them from moving to the second position and participating in the quarterfinals. However, in the 59th minute, Kamil Piatkowski equalized with a wonderful shot from the edge of the penalty area into the top corner of the goal, and the Scots were relegated at that time.

However, in the third minute of stoppage time, Andrew Robertson saved them with a header from John Souttar’s cross and sent the Poles to the “B”.

Football players from Denmark and Croatia advanced to the quarter-finals of the League of Nations. In a direct battle for participation among the top eight, the Danes drew 0:0 in Serbia and stayed ahead of their opponent in the second place of the 4th group. A home draw of 1:1 with Portugal was enough for the Croatians to progress from the 1st group of the A-division.

Nothing could dislodge the Portuguese from first place, but they still took the lead in Zagreb. In the 33rd minute, Joao Felix avoided the offside trap and converted a separate escape into the goalkeeper. The necessary draw was arranged by Joško Gvardiol in the 65th minute.

The Spaniards were already assured of first place before the last 6th round, and they said goodbye to the group stage with a 3:2 victory over relegated Switzerland. The Danes took the 2nd position, two points ahead of Serbia.

The first place in the 3rd group of the C-division was retained by the Northern Irish, who drew 2:2 in Luxembourg and moved up. The Romanians won the most points in the 2nd group of “céčka”, but the fate of their match with Kosovo, which did not end, has yet to be decided.

Lithuania lost 0:1 in Kosovo and did not win a single point in six duels. It will definitely go down that way. Luxembourg occupied the last place, but will play a playoff to stay in the C-Division, unless Azerbaijan defeats the Swedes in the “Slovak” group on Tuesday.
