Doctors’ warnings: Cold weather leads to strokes and acute myocardial infarction!
The weather went from spring temperatures to a normal thermal regime
In Dobrogea, as in many areas in the south of the country, the weather changed from spring temperatures to a normal thermal regime for the winter period. This sudden change, from temperatures of almost 20 degrees to those on the brink of freezing, puts our bodies to the test and can affect our health.
Caution for patients with chronic conditions
In addition to children and the elderly, patients with chronic conditions are also vulnerable, explains Dr. Anca Rădulescu, primary cardiologist at Constanța Emergency Hospital.
“If we mean low temperatures, then even this effort of the body to increase the temperature can lead to increases in blood pressure, and then, due to the sudden increase in blood pressure, strokes, acute myocardial infarction can occur. If he notices that there are changes in the symptomatology that he knew, he must go to the family doctor or the specialist”, concludes Dr. Anca Rădulescu, according to RRA.
Doctors also say that when the weather suddenly turns cold, some people may experience dizziness, headaches or fatigue.
