Zeliger: Commitment to sustainable development determines our future

In a recent interview with Green News magazinGeneral Manager of Hemofarm Ronald Zeliger points out that in the story of sustainable development “the inclusion of employees is a value that brings long-term results“.
According to him, Hemofarm’s commitment to sustainability began in 2011, with a focus on energy efficiency and promoting social responsibility. The company has since made significant progress in reducing resource consumption, increasing the participation of women in management and using recycled packaging materials.
„The pharmaceutical industry is one of the most strictly regulated branches and by nature strives to have high quality standards“, said Ronald Zeliger, general director of Hemofarm and added: “The responsibility of pharmaceutical manufacturers must be much greater than in other branches because we directly and indirectly affect people’s health. In our industry, apart from strict quality rules, there is another key control factor, and that is – pharmacovigilance. It is a legal obligation of everyone who manufactures and places pharmaceutical products on the market“.
The company’s ESG efforts have not gone unnoticed. Hemofarm is recognized as one of the leaders and a reliable partner in sustainable business. By reporting on sustainable development for more than a decade, consistently highlighting progress towards a carbon-neutral footprint and socially responsible practices, Hemofarm has also implemented state-of-the-art ESG platforms for supplier evaluation, ensuring that the company’s partners share a commitment to sustainability. Hemofarm also encourages employees to take an active role in sustainability initiatives, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
As one of the pioneers in sustainable business, Hemofarm presented one of its most important projects in this area last year in Vršac – STADA EXPO, a multimedia mobile platform. Zeliger points out that the STADA EXPO project aims to provide visitors with a concrete ESG experience.
„With STADA EXPO, we transfer the story of sustainable development from the realm of theory to the realm of reality. I believe that STADA EXPO is a good starting point in the formation of an alliance of companies, since it is our obligation because we are an important part of society, and if the leaders do not take action and take responsibility, nothing will change.,” says Ronald Zeliger.
Looking to the future, Zeliger says that Hemofarm plans to further optimize its portfolio of sustainable products and packaging, exploring digitization and innovative solutions to reduce environmental impact. The company also remains committed to monitoring social issues through the work of the Hemofarm Foundation. As one of the pioneers of sustainable business, Hemofarm also serves as a model for other companies.
