company builds anti-war and nuclear attack shelters

It is not a possibility that worries most of the population. However, in Portugal, there are already people preparing for a potential catastrophe, whether natural, such as a pandemic, or man-made, such as a war or nuclear attack. This national company helps in prevention by building bunkers.

Created by Rui Ribeiro, this Portuguese company has been building underground shelters capable of withstanding a natural disaster or a nuclear attack for the past two years.

Although it is not a fear for the majority of the population, in Portugal, as we have not had recent cases of catastrophic events, there are already those who are taking precautions, so as not to have to remedy them. In fact, according to Rui Ribeiro, SIC Newsthe world has been sending worrying signals for a long time.

A former emigrant in France, the businessman guarantees that the company Solid Bunker works with military equipment and says it follows the standards that Switzerland applies to the construction of shelters. Since the Cold War, Switzerland has required at least one underground shelter for each new construction, and today has a network of almost 400,000 bunkers and is among the countries with the highest coverage rate.

Solid Bunkers offers two shelter models:

  • O Bunker Solidwhich is custom designed according to the protection requirements of each client and adjusted to specific needs.
    • Completely built in reinforced concrete on the designed site;
    • No limitation on construction dimensions;
    • Completely buried;
    • Ideal for all types of properties;
    • Product designed for Individuals, Companies and similar Civil and Military Protection.

  • O Bunker Modularprefabricated, according to the protection requirements of each client and adjusted to their specific needs.
    • Available in different sizes.

The feasibility of building a bunker requires approval from the local authority and a geological study of the land.

The shelters developed by the Portuguese company promise to be inviolable, being designed and built to function as a bubble. In addition to independent water and energy sources, they have the capacity to regenerate air.

In the report conducted by the same media outlet, a bunker of around 20 square metres is shown, built eight metres underground in the Minho region. The shelter took four months to build and cost around 200 thousand euros.

The owner, who did not wish to be identified, shared that the bunker is prepared to accommodate four people and has autonomy for at least one month. In addition to a television, it has cameras for the outside.

With the war in Ukraine and nuclear tension, do you think that building a bunker could be an added value for families?
